Clearing Energy, Manifesting Change

Clearing, Cleansing, Grid Creation & More

Clearing and balancing energy to manifest change is an important and necessary process for a happy, healthy and abundant life. We want to give you some simple options and explore some of the ways you can approach this in this blog.

In terms of your personal space, it doesn’t matter whether you own or rent, live in a city apartment or on a large secluded property. Or maybe you live at home with your parents and don’t have a lot of space to call your own. Particularly in the times we are living through, our mental, physical and spiritual health can be impacted by our home environment (inside and out) both negatively and positively, depending on what’s going on energetically.

Read on down for instructions on a couple of methods to simply clear and cleanse and create a higher vibrational space, and even further down for useful additional tools for the process of maintaining the energy after a cleanse, etc.

Creating Sacred Space

Dean and I have always had a strong awareness of the need to create what we would call a Sacred Space in our home, our garden and our lives, somewhere that is our sanctuary away from the troubles and energies of the outside world.

In our case I would say that our sacred space or sanctuary extends right to the borders of our property. For many years that was 14 acres of bush, pasture and a beautiful garden in southern Tasmania, which we created from nothing, with a lot of hard physical work, but also a lot of attention to the energetic detail.

In 2018 we had a sea change and downsized to a very small suburban block, but the search for that perfect place to create sanctuary had a long check list of what we would need to feel peaceful and settled in that space.

Our sanctuary isn’t necessary about perfection, everything in its right place and no clutter. It’s much more about the energetic rightness of the space in which we exist. You know your home is your sanctury when you come home, close the door and sigh with relief that you’re in your safe, happy space. Or even more so if you find you’d rather just stay home than be out in the world, and this has become common place for many of us over recent years.

Perceiving the Energy

If you’ve been part of our tribe (Elements of Health, Soul Whispering and Five Elements Yoga) for a while, you will know that Dean and I have had a very long interest in things of an esoteric/metaphysical nature.

One of Dean’s many gifts is his ability to perceive and connect with the energies in a space, be it a house or a piece of land. Working with space clearing in many forms, he has long experience in releasing and rebalancing unwanted and unnecessary energies and creating sacred space not just for us, but for others also.

Whether in the home, the office, the therapy room or on the land, these areas all accumulate and hold stagnant and potentially damaging energy which can affect our health and impact our lives.

Just a comment on the spiritual journey from Dean on this topic which will resonate with many of you:

“We have been queuing for a long time to get to this point upon our spiritual journey, and we suddenly find that what is expected of our choices is not as simple or as easy as we first thought. The one thing to always remember is that when the Universe creates problems, alongside this it creates solutions as well.”

In this day and time creating a sacred space is even more necessary than ever.

Your New Home

Moving into a new house, whether it be a new build or an established home, can be one of those times when people talk about not settling in or not feeling right.

Often we don’t consider that while we clean physically on moving in, energetically we are getting the baggage left behind by the land owners, builders, or previous tenants … and possibly not just the most recent.

Dean poses the question “Would you live in a place for many years and never clean the floors or dust the rooms?”

Cleaning and cleansing are important and necessary to have a happy, healthy and abundant life and to turn a house into a home.

Decluttering has also become a focus in recent times and is certainly an important element in allowing energy to flow freely. But we want to take these chores to a whole new level and will explore some of the ways you can do this in your space.

A house is not a home until it feels comfortable to everyone, and cleansing can be an important part of the process of creating your own energetic sanctuary.

Questions to ask

Are you are stuck in your life?

Are you in poor health or in a difficult relationship?

Do you have trouble manifesting what you need or desire?

Do you just find yourself unsettled or unhappy where you live?

Living within energy fields which are busy, cluttered and potentially full of sticky, goopy, dark and pervasive energy is going to have an impact, even if you’re not a super-sensitive person.

Imagine the effect clearing and rebalancing this energy could have on your home, your life and your health.

Dean comments: “Most homes I have visited with the intention of space clearing all have much the same feeling – heavy, smelly, stagnant and yes, dark – as in a lack of brightness or light energy.”

Most of the time you live in these spaces and never consider how cleansing your energetic environment could have an impact on your health, prosperity and relationships.

What is this energy?

Dean has broken down the energies into four main types for simplicity. Everyone everywhere is going to be affected by one or all of these energies that permeate our lives.

If you look at the news you can sometimes pick through what is going on in the country or in your neighbourhood and begin to understand which level of energy is at play. There are many other types of subtle energy but we’ll keep it simple for now.

  • Man-made – electrical, electronic and magnetic, environmental. For example, EMF’s from mobile phones, computers, mains electricity boxes, smart meters. This would also include changes made by man to the environment which divert or disorder the energy, ramp it up or damp it down. Weather and climate engineering is a big topic currently which impacts us all generally and is also connected with the effects of cosmic energy.
  • Emotional – this is where we can experience the most significant effects and disharmony but also some of the most natural solutions. Here we could think about effects of emotional and social abuse, the impact of social media and also psychological manipulation through our news and other online sources.
  • Geopathic – produced by natural movements and interactions that our planet has with itself, these are things like ley lines (which includes song lines), underground water and areas of distorted energy generally. The management of these kinds of energy is not discussed in this post as these can require specialised knowledge and understanding.
  • Cosmic – everything outside of our sphere, most of which we have no control over. Solar (what originates from within solar system), Galactic (everything outside our solar system), astrological, Pranic (life force). As with geopathic stress we won’t discuss here because they are more complex to manage, but useful to be aware of.

What we are looking at here is neither good nor bad, just energy which may affect us personally in a range of ways and which we want to balance within our personal space to create harmony and peace in our lives.

Whenever there is a release of emotions from animal, plant or human, it is a release of energy. This energy can either dissipate naturally and no effect can be observed, or, in the case of an emotional conflict between two people, a residue remains and, if the disputes are frequent, they can build up.

Energy is just energy, but it can become other things if it remains or increases. Perhaps the first thing to mention is “dis-ease”, which as we know can manifest on the mental, emotional and physical levels. This can be the result of many conflicts or other negative events that have built up and not been released, of living in this stagnant energy and carrying that energy around. It doesn’t manifest in any specific way but is generally related to the individual susceptibility of the person. So as an example, someone who has a susceptibility to asthma may find their symptoms worse when they live or stay in a house where there has been conflict in the past which hasn’t been cleared.

The other thing to be aware of are the previous occupants of your dwelling or workplace. It is always useful to find out as much as you can about who lived or worked there before you and what circumstances made them leave. Not always an easy thing to find out but neighbours and colleagues are excellent repositories of information if you have a situation you are finding difficult to resolve.

Sometimes you can find patterns of illness, trauma or even bad luck that travel from one resident to the next, eventually highlighting a problem that nobody seems to be able to understand.

Stagnant energy can also manifest as relationship problems, and disharmony may also run through the pattern of residents. This in itself may not produce illness right away but can do so further on in life. You might be surprised at what you dig up!

Harmonising these energies helps us come back home to ourselves.

How to Clear & Cleanse

Everything that exists is energy or a vibration and what we see and feel is the result of specific fluctuations. What we call houses, people, emotions, etc, exist as a vibrational frequency and consequently everything can be affected by everything else.

If you could see the energy that can build up in a room or house, instead of just seeing it as an empty square or rectangular space, you would see an area with rounded corners or irregular sides where energy builds and can sometimes be felt as dark, fragmented or foreboding.

Just imagine a mansion many centuries old that carries the unresolved problems and dramas of its many residents, and then imagine moving in and trying to live there!

We’ve included below two different approaches to clearing, cleansing and maintaining healthy energy in your space; a simple technique with a salt cleanse and smudging and a process of creating an energy grid with crystals and sacred geometry.

1. Simple Clearing & Cleansing Technique

There are many simple and effective ways to shift and remove stagnant energy. Not only should you be able to feel the difference, but your life will reflect the difference as the dark and sticky energy is cleared and bright, light and abundant energy is allowed in.

Below are basic steps for a simple clearing and cleansing process. This process can resolve many energy-related problems. For more entrenched issues you are likely to need more help and more tools.

Salt Cleanse

Firstly in every corner of the room or house throw a handful of salt and let it sit for at least a day. At the same time place a bowl of salt in the middle of the room and leave it for the same amount of time.

Always use an unrefined rock or sea salt and only open the packet at the time of cleansing, as the salt will start to absorb the impurities from its surroundings.

Then purposefully enter the space and stand in one of the corners and clap your hands and listen. You may be aware that the sound is dull or lifeless. You may have to continue to do this until you become aware of the change in the energy of the sound.

Sound/Vibrational Cleansing

Next, you need to start to raise the vibration, and Dean’s preference for this is with a bell, as the tone is very high and pure. Dean received his priests bell from Bali many years ago, and it is the only sound cleanser he uses as he finds it seems to know and react to every situation, however there are other tools you can use and may prefer.

Crystal bowls, singing bowls and tuning forks are other sound tools, but if you don’t have a bell or similar, try using an empty wine glass and very gently either run a moist finger around the rim until it produces a tone, or use a striker against the edge. Any pure sound is a vibration and has the power to move energy. You’ll know what feels right.

You will need to stand in every corner and move along each wall, culminating at the doorway or threshold. You may need to do this several times until the room starts to feel more vibrant and the energy lifts.

Smudging

Lastly, we suggest to use good quality incense, resins or burn herbs (lavender, sweetgrass or white sage) to smudge the room, as this works best to lock in the cleansing.

Only use organic ingredients in a smudging process as ingredients that have not grown organically and perhaps used pesticides in the process, can release more toxins into the environment you are cleansing.

If you are using herbs or resin, place them on a charcoal tablet in a fireproof vessel as they get very hot. Place it in the middle of the room and let the herbs and charcoal burn out.

Then leave the room and don’t return until the next day if possible.

Cleaning Up

On the following day enter the area with a focus on the final outcome you desire. Part of this whole process is the ritual – a powerful tool for bringing change – it’s not just cleaning the house!

Vacuum or sweep up all the salt carefully, visualising the physical removing and changing of the energy as you go.

Dispose of in a rubbish bin outside the house and away from the immediate area. Never use the residue for anything else.

Setting your Intention

When you have finished cleaning and cleansing thoroughly, it is time to set the intention for what you wish to happen in this space. This may be an obvious choice, such as harmony or peace, or perhaps, if this is an office, that you perform your daily work in, prosperity. And of course don’t forget the garden, which these days is a really important and integral part of our future lives.

You can also consider using this method if you are trying to have a child. It worked wonders when Dean performed a clearing and healing at a client’s house many years ago!

Maintaining the Intention

One last thing that holds the intention in place is the use of an offering, and this can be either fresh flowers or something like a bright shining crystal. The choice is yours, but it should reflect the lightness and clarity of the vibration you have created. This can be placed in the center of the room or you can create an altar in a corner of the room, either way, do what feels appropriate.

It may be that you will need to go through some or all of these processes to work out exactly what and where the problem is, and it may be that because of emotion creating a negative energy generally, this traps more negative energy on all levels.

Often these simple tools will work well to bring positive change. It may be you need to repeat the process from time to time. Some energies can be more resistant to change, maybe they are ancient and firmly entrenched and require special handling, but that is another blog!

2. Creating an Energy Grid with Crystals

Another way to clear a space or area is to create an energetic frequency grid using crystals and sacred geometry to amplify, focus, and direct energy toward a specific intention. This process acts as a “powerhouse of frequencies” designed to raise the vibration of a person, space, or intention.

Here is a quick guide to creating your own energetic frequency grid.

Define Your Intention (The Goal)

  • Be Specific: Clearly define what you want to manifest or change (e.g., healing, abundance, protection, peace, or high-vibration energy).
  • Write It Down: Write your intention in the present tense on a small piece of paper to be placed under the central stone.

Choose Your Crystals (The Frequencies)

Select stones that resonate with your intention to create a harmonious frequency. Some suggestions are given below.

  • Clear Quartz: Acts as the “master healer” to amplify the energy of other stones.
  • Amethyst: Good for spiritual insight, calm, and protection.
  • Rose Quartz: Used for love, compassion, and emotional healing.
  • Citrine/Pyrite: Best for abundance, prosperity, and joy.
  • Black Tourmaline: Essential for grounding and protection.

Choose a Sacred Geometry Pattern (The Structure)

The geometric layout helps direct the energy flow. You can use a grid cloth, draw your own, or arrange them intuitively.

  • Flower of Life: Ideal for manifestation, healing, and unity.
  • Seed of Life: Perfect for new beginnings and growth.
  • Spiral: Used for transformation, change, and ascension.
  • Circle/Hexagon: Standard for anchoring energy and overall balance.

Cleanse and Prepare the Space

Choose a space where you would like to create your energy grid to build the frequency.

Before building, cleanse your stones and the space of old, stagnant energy use the method described above. You could skip the salt and use sage smoke, palo santo, sound (singing bowls), or moonlight.

Assemble the Grid (The Activation Process)

  1. Place the Intention: Place your written intention in the center of the grid.
  2. Place the Center Stone: Place your “master stone” (often a clear quartz point) over the paper to anchor the energy.
  3. Place Supporting Stones: Working from the center outward, place the smaller crystals in the geometric pattern, keeping your intention in mind.

Activate the Grid (Connecting the Energy)

To bring the grid to life, you must connect the energy of the stones.

  • Use a Wand: Take a clear quartz point or a wand and start from the outside, tracing lines from stone to stone, leading back to the center.
  • Visualize: Imagine a web of light and energy connecting all the stones, strengthening with each connection.
  • Seal the Grid: Sit quietly, meditate, or state your intention out loud three times to lock in the purpose.

Maintain the Grid

  • Location: Keep it in a quiet, undisturbed area – it can be inside or outside.
  • Recharge: Visit it daily to meditate and realign with your goal.
  • Cleanse: Cleanse the grid periodically (e.g., weekly or at the full moon).

Tools in our Online Store

There are many products in our online store that were created specifically for clearing, cleansing and rejuvenating the energy of a space or even just yourself and working with intention.

EnviroSprays

Many of the items in our Enviro Sprays and Soul Harmonics ranges were created with the purpose of aiding in cleansing, clearing and re-energising your space (and yourself!).

We created the range specifically to combat the problems found in many homes and workplaces during Dean’s space cleansing work and the feedback we have received has shown the benefits.

Dean usually starts with Space Clearing and ends with Peace Be Still if you are wanting to create a sacred space, but it may depend on what you come across during your clearing and what you are going to use the area for.

If you have a problem with more man-made negative energy, such as EMFs then Electro-Emissions will clear and settle this, but needs to be used regularly – as regularly as you are using your computer, mobile phones, modems, etc.

If your problem is more to do with off-gassing of man-made products from new furniture, flooring, paints, and glues or similar, then our Enviro-Toxins spray is your go to.

As with our Protection spray, you will find Grounding in both the EnviroSprays range and the Soul Harmonics category. Grounding is such a useful spray these days for just that – grounding – and it bridges the void between earth and heaven, moving into the esoteric realms of the Soul Harmonics as well. Identity confusion? No, just a broadly useful vibrational essence for these days and times.

Soul Harmonics

Our Soul Harmonics made themselves manifest way back in the very early 2000s, gifted from the higher realms. With the changing energy of our world and the increasing number of seekers and lightworkers engaging purposefully with their life paths, in 2016 the time felt right to fine tune, re-energise and rename these amazing tools for transformation.

The Soul Harmonics are here to support you on your way, to remind you of what you already know and to free you from the illusion of the world we live in. To help you stop and take stock, to breathe, to release and to balance.

Heartcrafted from potent vibrational essences to allow you to fly and Wyldwood Essences (grown and created in the garden at Wyldwood in Southern Tasmania) to keep you grounded, they will reach out to you on your soul journey to make you whole.

While the Soul Harmonics were originally created as personal essences, we added the option of a room spray later on as some situations do feel like they relate to a broader energetic area than just what we might think of as, for example, the basic seven chakras or a particular inner need.

Where issues extend into and affect the higher levels and outer reaches, sometimes a step-through or step-into spray feels more appropriate.

You can read the blog on the whole range of Soul Harmonics here and find the products instore.

New Earth Remedies

Most recently we have begun adding the high vibrational New Earth Remedies to the store. These are single remedies from a range of esoteric traditions, relating to work on the spiritual path.

They come from the realms of colour, crystal, plant and so on, to help you on your spiritual and healing journey. Check back from time to time or sign up to our newsletter to be notified when new items are available.

Additional Tools

There are so many additional tools which can easily be used every day, every week or when you feel, as part of a cleansing or other ritual, or just as required.

There are many tools we’ve used for a time in our lives or at a particular place. Some of these things are integral to the energy of all of our homes and we set them up again if we move or perhaps we’ve had people in the house doing renovations or similar.

Below we’ve outlined some of them for you, but you may well have your own and this is just a reminder that now is as good a time as any to have that spring or autumn cleanse!

Feng Shui

The Chinese have been very aware of the effect of well balanced and harmonised energies for many centuries. The philosophy of feng shui is very basically about arranging the living and outdoor spaces in order to create balance with the natural world. The goal is to harness positive energies and establish harmony between an individual and their environment.

It’s a powerful process and well worth exploring particularly if you have issues with the energetic design of a home. It’s also useful if you find you cannot hold onto love, friends or money because they are energetically rushing out of an unprotected doorway, just as an example, and can offer some very simple solutions.

Essential Oils & Essences

As with sound vibration, the energy of essential oils and essences (of which there are more than you could imagine from all realms) is high and unique to each essence or oil. These can be spritzed or diffused in a room or worn personally for protection and to clear, cleanse and rejuvenate and raise the vibration as often as required.

We never travel without a pouch of oils to raise the vibration but also for first aid along with our homeopathics and they are used frequently in our home.

Always buy the best you can afford. They differ hugely and after over 30 years of using them we’re very picky. I’ve bought online and returned them because of lack of potency, so do your research. Oils are about vibration not smell and some of the cheaper oils just won’t do the job you ask of them! They are an investment and used carefully and smartly a bottle can last for several years.

Crystals

Many of you are already familiar with using crystals to cleanse and clear, to protect and to work vibrationally in a range of situations. There is a wealth of information out there on this topic. Only thing to remind you of is if you are using crystals to absorb negative energy, for example EMFs, that you periodically cleanse them too, so they can continue to do their job!

Shiva Lingham Stones

Shiva Lingham stones come from the Narmada River in India, where they are rolled into a perfect egg shape by the action of the river. Some stones are hand shaped by the people who live in this area.

Lingam stones are said to have one of the highest vibrations of all stones and are sacred within the Hindu religion. They emanate a vibration that will purify your sacred space. The shape of the stone represents male energy (Knowledge) and the markings, which differ greatly from stone to stone, represent female energy (Wisdom). Within the form of the stones, there is also the shape of the cosmic egg, out of which all creation has emerged.

They can be used singly in a room, some are small enough to wear as a pendant and are said to have a variety of therapeutic applications, including encouraging fertility.

For the past 20 years we have set a stone at each corner of our property to create a boundary of energetic protection and purification.

Mirrors

Mirrors are a very useful tool for encouraging or redirecting energy and come from the Chinese tradition of Feng Shui. They are great if you are renting and have issues with aspects of your property or the neighbours, and can be used to deflect energy away from your space, as well as being useful to reflect light and energy in.

Plants

The cleansing and healing power of plants is well known and energetically they raise the vibration of any room. They do require regular care and the right conditions, so they’re not a set-and-leave solution, but definitely something that will lift your space.

Altars

The word ‘altar’ always seems to conjure the image of religion and many of us have moved out of or away from institutional religion and found our own spiritual path. An altar is just a focal point for our intention, our prayers and for directing our daily focus and devotions.

It can be a corner of a room or just the corner of a table or bench. It might have a statute or image of a Buddah, a Hindu goddess or other spiritual deity, a space for your daily inspirational cards, fresh flowers or a plant, crystals, or perhaps a photo of a loved one who has passed. You may burn incense or diffuse oils. The point is to create a focus and set the energy to permeate the area and to maintain this energy that you create and refocus each day.

Agnihotra

Agnihotra (agni means fire, hotra means healing) is an ancient fire ritual from the Vedic traditions of India. This sacred fire ritual is invigorating, healing and purifying to the atmosphere, and the immediate experience is a greater peace within oneself, one’s family and the environment.

For best results it is carried out every dawn and dusk and is a simple 10-minute process that involves a small fire burnt in a seamless inverted copper pyramid of specific dimensions at the precise moment of sunrise and sunset. The ritual includes simple mantras and offerings and is something we have practised from time to time to raise the vibration on our land and in our own environment.

The benefits from performing Agnihotra can be significant and there is an Australian website with quite a lot of information. https://www.agnihotra.com.au/

Final thoughts …

Our needs in terms of clearing space and creating sanctuary are all going to be different, so you do what resonates with you and your home, office, etc.

You might try a number of things until you figure out what works for you.

There are benefits to be had from doing any kind of space clearing and reenergising and it can provide grounding, clarity and support mental and also physical health.

Enjoy the process and the results!

About Dean Creedy

Dean has been a spiritual seeker for nearly 50 years this time around, and has had a focus on the path of the yogic traditions for nearly 30. He was drawn to the mystical and metaphysical side of the Indian and Eastern traditions, gaining deeper understanding through the grace of teachers and masters upon the path. In 2003 he became part of these traditions by initiation and adopting and embracing his spiritual name.

Dean has been here many many times before and while in many different bodies, the most frequent incarnations have been as a shaman or spirit walker. “I dare say that this will not be the last time, but I don’t say that with a sigh, because being here means that the bigger picture has still got a plan that I am involved with!”

Dean’s approach to the spiritual path and all the pitfalls and challenges is a practical and grounded one, sidestepping the often airy nature of current trends, and always looking for balance in all things.

“We have been queuing for a long time to get to this point upon our spiritual journey, and we suddenly find that what is expected of our choices is not as simple or as easy as we first thought. The one thing to always remember is that when the Universe creates problems, alongside this it creates solutions as well.”
